Virgilio is a four-year-old Drahthaar, trained and certified in the detection of poisoned baits — a crucial mission to protect other animals. But when he's not on duty, he devotes himself to something he truly loves: hunting for truffles.

Between patrols, Virgilio unwinds in the woods by guiding tourists, families, and truffle lovers through authentic truffle hunting experiences. With him by your side, you’ll step into the magical world of the trifulao, learning to read a dog’s signals and tune in to the rhythm of the forest.

An amazing experience!
Roberta was welcoming and professional from the very beginning. During the briefing, the walk-through, and the exploration of the land, she conveyed a passion and enthusiasm that's not always guaranteed in this line of work. The approach and work with the dogs were absolutely fantastic!

An extraordinary experience!
We started with a video introduction explaining what truffles are and how to find the different varieties. Then came a walk into the woods, where we learned how to identify ideal truffle areas, what types of vegetation to look for, and lots of fascinating insights.Next, we went truffle hunting with the dogs — first with the experienced Virgilio, who amazed us with his energy and skills, and then with little Jek, just four months old, already promising and absolutely adorable!We thought the best part would be the truffle hunt itself... but then came the "aperitivo" — and I say that in quotes because it felt like a true gourmet dinner! Poached egg with Taleggio, polenta, a variety of delicious bites, focaccia... and of course, truffle in everything — even a caramelized truffle dessert! We left incredibly happy and grateful for such a unique experience!
